It is now twelve years that the singing bird of the Christopher Summer Festival has been soaring above Vilnius, once again inviting spiritually enlightened, culture-seeking guests to its many cultural events. As in previous years, this year's bouquet of events and concerts is just as colourful and alluring, offering everything from opera and symphony concerts, to sacred music concerts, the magic of guitar to the brilliance of piano, from surprising multi-styled projects to more refined programmes and the celebratory commotion of St. Christopher's Day.
The Christopher Festival has been popular among the residents of Vilnius for a long time now. The festival has also been acclaimed on an international scale - its halls attract more and more tourists who plan their visits to Vilnius based on these fine concerts, while the programmes themselves span an even greater spectrum of styles and artistic discoveries.
The Christopher Festival, an acknowledged representative of the Vilnius City Cultural Policy, honourably continues this tradition, its singing bird carrying it to the heights of the 2009 European Capital of Culture.
